Limpopo Sports Awards nominees revealed
The nominees for the 2024 Limpopo Sports Awards were revealed during the official launch at Meropa Casino, Polokwane on Friday. This year’s awards were launched under the theme “30 Years of Sporting Excellence: Celebrating Limpopo’s Finest”.
Speaking at the official launch, MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Jerry Maseko says this year’s awards aim to honour those that have never been recognized in the province.
“The principle is that we need to treat all these people equally,” said MEC Maseko, referring to the nominees.

“We are also mobilizing extra resources and there are prospects that we might get some funding. So it will be premature to talk rands and cents now
But I can assure you. We are going to strike a balance but we have also agreed that we should honour those that have never been honoured.
“We also want to honour our volunteers. Those people who are coordinating sporting activities in the province without any expectation of a reward.”
