Sixth edition of CDM 4-in-1 Marathon officially launched
Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor Mamedupi Teffo officially launched the 2025 CDM 4-in-1 Marathon at Mercurius Motors Polokwane on Wednesday. Two Oceans and Comrades Marathon qualifiers include 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km and 5km races in partnership with Polokwane Athletics Club and Mercurius Polokwane.
The launch was attended by runners, Mayor Mamedupi Teffo, representatives from Mercurius, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, officials from the CDM as well as seasoned runners Ludwick Mamabolo and Rufus Photo.

Speaking at the launch, Executive Mayor Teffo says that given the success of the 2024 edition, she is expecting over 3 500 runners to partake in the Marathon. The Municipality has also put aside a prize money of R 170 000.

“The marathon always represents our determination to make Capricorn a distinct and active region,” said Mayor Teffo. “Not only here in the province but also in the SADC region.”

“We are also happy to announce that last year’s race was a huge success and thanks to all the athletics clubs in particular Polokwane Athletic Club who are our partners.”
“This year will be even more fun because we have put aside a cash prize of the value of R170 000 for those who are looking forward to rewarding themselves. I am saying this because I know that this race doesn’t only attract social runners like myself, but it also attracts professional runners as far as Kenya.”
The 2025 CDM 4-in-1 Marathon will take place on Saturday, February 15 from 05:00 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
