Chuene Clinic to remain closed after rape incident
The Chuene Clinic outside Lebowakgomo in Limpopo will remain closed for the weekend after the unfortunate rape incident. This comes after two nurses were kidnapped and raped by armed men on Friday morning.
The heavily armed men reportedly entered the Clinic, overpowered three security personnel, and tied them up before abducting the two nurses.

This horrific incident occurred around 1:00 AM while the nurses were on night duty. They only reappeared around 5:00 AM on Friday.

“The Limpopo Health Department wishes to inform the community that the Chuene Clinic will remain closed throughout the weekend due to the distressing incidents involving the robbery, abduction, and sexual assault of our dedicated nursing staff. We deeply empathize with our employees and the impact this has on their well-being and the community,” they said.
“In light of this situation, we encourage community members to seek medical assistance at the nearest clinics in the neighboring areas. Including Maja, Soetfontein, and Unit B clinics. We are committed to keeping you updated regarding the reopening of the Chuene Clinic and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
“As we navigate through this challenging time, let us unite in keeping the two nurses and all clinic employees in our thoughts and prayers. Together, we can foster a supportive environment for our healthcare workers.”
