Ramaphosa reflected on the Party’s disappointing electoral showing in 2024, saying the party’s branches are all but dead. He told supporters that the party is experiencing a resurgence of support despite its electoral setback.
However, Ramaphosa also acknowledged that the party lost because of a combination of reasons. This also includes poor service delivery.
He said the ANC, in the meantime, will continue to work closely with other political parties in the GNU, even those they have ideological differences with.

ANC PRESIDENT TAKE SWIPE AT BREAKAWAY FACTIONS DURING THE PARTY’S JANUARY 8 STATEMENT
The president said breakaway factions will never weaken the party and the new political formations would never destroy the party. He directly took a swipe at the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, started by his predecessor, Jacob Zuma.
“They think they will weaken the ANC. They will never defeat the ANC. Some of these parties masquerade as more radical than the ANC,” he said.
“But their revolutionary sounding rhetoric cannot hide the reality that they have common cause with the forces opposing transformation.”
