Warning issued as rainfall continues to flood roads in Limpopo
The continuing heavy rainfall in Limpopo has flooded several roads and small bridges, rendering them impassable.
This includes the bridge on road R33, approximately 30 kilometres from Vaalwater in the Waterberg District, which is currently submerged underwater.

Motorists and pedestrians, beware of flooded roads. Crossing them can be dangerous, with risks of being swept away, and losing control of your vehicle.
To ensure your safety, please follow these guidelines: Avoid travelling to areas with flooding or heavy rainfall, check the weather forecast and road conditions before embarking on a trip and reduce speed and increase following distance to cater for slippery roads and reduced visibility. Meanwhile, there was also damage caused by heavy rains, especially in Vaalwater and Roedtan. Within the Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality.
Mayor Cllr Sechele Sebolai, together with ward councillors and public works team, will be visiting these affected areas to see the extent of the damage and to come up with the best possible solution to help these affected areas.
“We call on residents of Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality to be vigilant and avoid trying to cross flooded roads or bridges,” said Mayor Cllr Sechele Sebolai.
“He further stated that when threatened contact, the Municipal customer care 087 223 1234, police stations or national emergency numbers 112, 10117 or 107.”
