Foreigner caught trying to smuggle stolen BMW into Zim
A 40-year-old foreign national was arrested while trying to smuggle a stolen BMW to Zimbabwe via the Beitbridge Port of Entry on New Year’s Eve.
Members were on duty when the driver of a black BMW G70, 7 Series of 2023 worth over R2 million wanted to pass at about 20:10. The driver had a South African passport.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the vehicle is wanted by one of the banks in South Africa. The driver alleged that the real owner will be flying to South Africa on New Year’s Day.
The foreign national was arrested for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and provided with fraudulent documents by the SAPS. The vehicle was seized. He will appear before the Musina Magistrate Court on Friday.

Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the members who were vigilant to ensure that the suspect was brought to book to face the full might of the law. She added that it’s the result of more boots on the ground during the Festive Season.
