Limpopo Legends Awards recipients announced
The Limpopo Artists Movement [LAM] president Mphoza Mashabela launched the 3rd Annual Limpopo Legends Awards (LILA) at Garden Court Polokwane in December. The awards marks a significant moment for the province’s entertainment and cultural scene.
Powered by the South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA), this prestigious event is set to honour South Africa’s finest musicians and cultural icons, celebrating their exceptional contributions to the industry.

“We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our sponsors and partners, and we pray that God continues to bless us as we continue to honor those who have shaped our cultural landscape,” he said.
“We’ve said it before that we don’t want to thank our legends when they are dead. We rather honour them now while they are still alive. We want them to know we love and appreciate them. For now we will honour 10 legends, then next year we’ll honour another group of legends,” said Mphoza Mashabela the event organizers during their address.
RECIPIENTS OF THE LIMPOPO LEGENDS AWARDS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED
One of the major highlights of the 3rd LILA Awards will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The recipients for this year’s awards are South African music legends who have made indelible marks in the industry. The honorees include Bra Don Laka, Spenza Man, Candy Tsa Mandebele, Rudolf Letsoalo, Ester M, Lucky Legodi, Paul Mabilu, MaJoy, and, posthumously, Dan Tshanda and also Malo A Bocheba.
