TEACHERS AMONGST THOSE WHO DIED DURING THE DENDRON ROAD ACCIDENT IN LIMPOPO
“The situation is very bad and disturbing. We are fully devastated as a province because right now at the scene. We can talk about 13 deaths,” MEC Radzilani told the media.
“They managed to retrieve some and are still busy with one of the passengers who was in the taxi. They also need to assist the truck driver. But no one has survived this tragic accident.
“The information I received from the officials when I arrived as you can see here. Some are saying the weather conditions [might have played a role]. I am told there was a very thick mist in this area. So the truck driver lost control and hit the taxi,” she said.
“The taxi had 12 people and the majority of them were school teachers who were on their way to work. As a province, we are very much shocked because when you check in terms of this road, you can see that the road has nothing [wrong],” added Radzilani.
“There are no potholes, the road is in good condition. But when you check the accident, truly speaking, this is too much for us as the province. To lose 13 people at a go, who left their family members in the morning. These are bread winners who said let me go and work for my family.”
