Limpopo’s Best Drivers awarded
The MEC for Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo, Florence Radzilani, awarded the province’s best drivers during the Driver of the Year Competition this weekend. The Prize Giving Ceremony was held at Park Inn in Polokwane, Capricorn District on Saturday.
The Driver of the Year Competition is an initiative to encourage drivers to adhere to road safety, at all times. It is also used to educate the public about road safety, and the implications of non-adherence.

MEC Radzilani encouraged drivers to continue being vigilant during their travels within the Province. With the Easter Long weekend approaching, the MEC IS confident that there will be fewer fatalities.
She also raised concerns about drivers who do not take regular rest during their travel. She alluded that the Department has chosen [Fatigue is a silent Killer] as a theme for the competition for this year because they have witnessed how lack of rest has contributed to most of the road fatalities.
“The Driver of the Year Competition comes at a time when the government is doubling its effort to heighten the message of road safety. As we move towards our goal of attaining a state of zero occurrences in road fatalities. What is more pleasing with the 2024 edition of this Competition is the increase in female participation which is in line with our developmental agenda.
